Piers was adopted by the English from the Old French "Pierre, Piers", introduced by the Normans after the Conquest of 1066; the Latinized form, "Petrus", is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.     I am searching for information about my GGGrandfather who was born approximately 1825 and immigrated from Ireland to Laurel Kentucky before his marriage in 1858. He was killed in the Civil War and almost none of his family history prior to his immigration exists. It is family lore that he was from Tipperary and that he had a brother. He was somehow related? to a Peggy Pearson, Dghtr of G.W. Pearson who immigrated much earlier than John's birth in Ireland. It is supposed hG.W. was a relative that supported as an anchor more of his relations immigration, but the connection is blurry. We do have probate record that shows that Peggy trusted her children's estate in part to John upon her death. Her husband remarried and had more children, but John was at least partially involved in the children's disposition until his death. John had one son, and possibly a second son and a daughter. I am a descendant of his oldest child. Any other children did not leave heirs. I would like to clarify the connection to the Pearson family in Ireland prior to his immigration, pre-1825. John J.
